As part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA)/Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) signed into law in November 2021, the U.S. Department of Transportation established the Carbon Reduction Program (CRP). Following this legislation, KDOT has developed their Transportation Emissions Reduction Strategy (TERS).
The MPO Call for Projects is the next step in implementing the goals and strategies of the Transportation Emissions Reduction Strategy. Projects submitted should align with the TERS and be consistent with the MPO’s Connect 2040 plan goals and other local plans.
