Safe Routes to SChool

The MPO works with cities and school districts to develop Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Plans for area schools. SRTS is a federal program aimed at increasing safety for kids to walk and bike to school. Projects identified in a SRTS Plan are eligible to apply for a dedicated pot of  SRTS funding.

Safe Routes to SChool

The MPO received a Community Challenge Grant to install semi-permanent projects at three locations in Manhattan to improve pedestrian safety. Two along the Hudson Trail, at Londonery and Englewood, and at the intersection of Juliette & Pierre near Manhattan Catholic School.
