The Flint Hills Transportation Plan is being constructed through the work of a consulting team and the Flint Hills Metropolitan Planning Organization (FHMPO). The FHMPO was designated by the State of Kansas in February 2013 for the Manhattan Urbanized Area, and is governed by a Policy Board and Technical Advisory Committee composed of elected public officials from each area within the MPO boundaries (shown below).
What is the Flint Hills Transportation Plan?
The Flint Hills Transportation Plan (FHTP) is a long-range plan that establishes goals and priorities for the regional multi-modal tranportation system, including roadways, public transit, bicyclists, and pedestrians. The FHTP began in April of 2014, and will consist of a series of committee, stakeholder, and public meetings throughout the creation process until its completion in late 2015.
